A meeting place for those in need of assistance. It may be emergency agistment or fodder required due to flood or drought, or just a place to chat about our day and exchange solutions! A valuable support network and information resource.

G'day Deborah,

Just thought I'd let you know as the Supporting Food and Fibre Group Creator I have removed your post to the groups Wall. You are welcome to post it as a discussion topic.

See comment below as to why.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Deborah,

Please, stop posting discussion topics to group Walls like you are doing.

Post it as a discussion topic - NOT ON THE WALL.

Its just being thoughtful of the members of the group. Do you understand why? Because when you post a discussion topic AS A DISCUSSION TOPIC every member gets an email alert, but when others reply they don't unless they have replied themselves.

When you post a DISCUSSION TOPIC to the Group Wall, every time someone replies EVERY members gets an email regardless of if they are interested or NOT. So if you post something and I and other members are not interested in the topic, but others are and you end up with 30 comments, I and every member who is not interested get 30 emails - Do you have any idea how annoying it is to get 30 emails on something that you are not interested in.

If you have a question post it as a discussion topic in the group. Yes everyone gets an email when you do, but they only get follow up emails if they reply.

Here is a link to a tutorial that you will find helpful.

How To Post a Discussion Topic, Blog Posts

Deborah - We want to hear from you - BUT DO NOT POST DISCUSSION TOPICS TO GROUP WALLS - they are discussion topics and should be posted as such - Thank you.

Thanks for your cooperation and thoughtfulness for others.

Is that you on the bike ?
are you breeding cows only or do you have any other activities on your farm (rural tourism etc.. ) ?
Do you have a website for your farm ?
I do have a very old website (created way back in 1996) with my CV at :

The dairy heifer in the photo on the site were 220 kg $1000 and the guy who owns them intends buying in milk cows...2nd and 3rd calves....for less money. Think he has the right idea at the moment the way things are going. Dairy cows in the fat sale made very good money $1:45 for 600 kg meaty holsteins. Plenty about for less money!!! Jen

Deborah I wrote a heap of stuff this mornign to you but it wouldn't send...and I had to go to a sale so bleeped it off.
Now I don't know where Lansdowne is .....and I haven't got any contacts for Exports in NSW...they all work Victoria.
Today the Weekly Times has the first of the Middle East dairy heifer export orders as well as China orders they are still trying to fill.
Landmark agent Peter Mathieson operates in Northern Victoria. 0437 104 385
UAE Unjoined Holstein heifers min. of 14 months 320kg + $900-$1000+GST
There are other ones for older heifers and cows.
Now Darren Askew who works for Corcoran and Parker hasn't got an ad in the paper today but he is also very active and worth a call but I'll have to find his mobile no.!!! More tomorrow.

Deborah,
I have used Graham Sait`s products and found them very good also since balancing my soils nutrients/ pH my soil/farm hasn`t looked back!
I did that with mineral fertilizers, been using only Min` Fertilizers the last 12 years. The amazing part is the cost, until recently my fertilizer cost half the cost of chemical fert`s and I was giving the soil WHAT it needed to grow healthy crops. I`ve been bagged as a bit of an alternate lifestyler for not following the herd but the herd are looking over the fence now! I can babble on because I love my farm/soil/animals etc...
Regards Linden.
